Join us each month to learn more about the people who hike, maintain, and work to preserve the Northville-Placid Trail today. A short tour of the exhibit will be given by ADKX’s project team after each presentation.
Adirondack Hamlets to Huts is excited to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the Northville Placid Trail (NPT) by offering a guided, supported trip for trekkers seeking to hike the entire 138 miles of the trail or one or two 4-day sections of the trail. Our lodging includes diverse options: community stays, cozy glamping, and lightweight backcountry camping.
Join the 5-day Bog Bridge Replacement volunteer project by the Adirondack Mountain Club, open to those 14 and older. No experience needed. Help replace bog bridging in the Blue Mountain Wild Forest section of the Northville-Placid Trail, camp on the trail, and contribute to trail sustainability with guidance from experienced crew leaders.
Located at the Inn on Piseco Lake - The Irondequiot. There will be live music, food, venders, activities and crafts for kids, demonstrations and info tables, and special appearances by Smokey the Bear and Bigfoot! S'mores and a campfire will close out the evening!
Join the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism, the Lake Placid-North Elba Historical Society, and outdoor organizations for a unique trail's end party at the Northville-Placid Trail. Enjoy history exhibits, hearty food, and free beer tastings, even if you didn't hike the trail.
Join Joan Collins on a bird walk through diverse habitats, offering sightings of various bird species, including Black-backed Woodpeckers. The event, starting from the Route 28N trailhead near Long Lake at 7 a.m., requires registration and is jointly sponsored by Northern New York Audubon and the Long Lake Parks and Recreation Department. Maximum of 15 participants - Rain date: September 15th, 2024.
